I saw that headline today on CNN and thought, "Breaking News! 600 years ago canibals ate some explorers! No way!" Slow day in Atlanta.

Slow day in your face.

No but seriously, VG has a point. It's not like this is really a surprise at all.

From somewhere on the internet: "Aztec doctors understood a great deal about the human body. There were plenty of bodies to practice on with all the wars and sacrifices." Eesh..

Anyway, we grew up hearing this stuff as bedtime stories. They just left out the part where my ancestors played soccer with the Spaniard's heads, drank poison to prove their immortality, and then invented chewing gum and chocolate.

And just a little more history for y'all. The way they treated the Spaniards is nothing compared to the way they treated their own children. "One form of punishment had the parent holding their child over a chili pepper fire and forcing them to inhale the chili pepper smoke." That's effed up.

And one day, I'll get to do temple work for these people.
